Pangolin Party – GGC 2019

In the context of the course “Game Production 2 : Vertical Slice” at Uppsala University Campus Gotland, team F.R.O.G, composed of Ana Laura Martinez, Anna Malkan Nelson, Erik Rosenberg, Matthias Jannidis and I, created the vertical slice of a 3D espionage game called Pangolin Party.

 

The game’s premise is as follows : a spy is infiltrating a pangolin party and it’s a detective’s job to stop them. Play as either the spy completing objectives against the clock or as the detective, going through the crowd and finding out clues about the spy’s whereabouts.

Overall, the game was a huge success on all fronts.

Indeed, the game was presented on the showfloor at Gotland Game Conference 2019 and won the Almedalen Bibliotek award. Personally, it was also an opportunity for me to sharpen my programming skills as well as to experiment with shader programming even more.

Here’s the trailer we made for GGC2019. Since then, a lot of the game has been reworked, notably the UI, pangolin model and level.
